Head of Building Services / M&E Engineer

Design & Delivery – Chartered Status essential.

Hybrid / Flexible Working Environment (subject to business needs – Dublin based)

 

The successful applicant will be joining and existing growing multi-disciplinary team and will join as the head of their building services team in Dublin. This role offers excellent scope for further development within the company as the team grows with significant support and input from the Directors at management level and delivery support from M&E teams in other locations.

The teams focus is on growing their ability to provide a “one stop shop” for their clients in the delivery of Construction and Real-estate development projects. Experience of design and delivery of the Building Services aspect of Construction and or Fit Out projects, specifically in the Irish market is essential. Chartered Status Mechanical or Electrical is a prerequisite for this role as the successful candidate will have to sign of on projects at a local level.

Essentially this role will involve integrating Building Engineering Services Consultancy with existing Project Management & Development Services team. While also working in tandem with the Real Estate and Sustainability teams to add value to their service offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow the teams Building Services capability of the team with the support of the Directors, you will be creating a business within the business and grow into a role having P&L responsibility.
  • On site Engineering Services (M&E) inspections and survey reports for inclusion in multi-disciplinary Technical Due Diligence for large investor transactions.
  • Develop new revenue streams from Building Engineering Services Consultancy services internally in the business and externally
  • Work closely with the Sustainability Consultants on their project portfolio.
  • Engineering Contractor Supervision.
  • Prepare / Supervise designs and calculations for HVAC and Electrical engineering systems in buildings
  • Prepare budget cost estimates for project designs.
  • Producing Engineering Service Lifecycle Plans
  • Ability to advise on Engineering Service Compliance and Energy guidance for upgrades etc.
  • Client meetings and reporting
  • Developing both external and internal client relations
  • Financial monitoring of individual fee earning
  • Grow and develop junior members of the team
  • Promote inter department cross selling

 

Person Specification/Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with relevant Engineering Studies
  • Full Chartered membership of Engineers Ireland
  • Design side experience in the Commercial Building sector.
